2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 ¾ cups buttermilk (or substitute – see tips)
½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted
