Instructions

Make the Dough

  • In a small saucepan, bring water, butter, and vanilla to a simmer.

  • Remove from heat and stir in flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until a soft dough forms.

  • Let cool slightly.

Shape the Snacks

  • Transfer dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip (or roll into small balls for churro bites).

Fry or Bake

  • Frying Method: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry dough pieces in batches until golden brown (2–3 minutes).

  • Baking Method: Place on a lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, until golden.

Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

  • Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

  • Roll the warm churro snacks in the mixture until fully coated.

Serve

  • Serve warm with melted chocolatecaramel sauce, or dulce de leche.

Serving Suggestions

  • Dip in Nutella, chocolate ganache, or vanilla icing.

  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar for a bakery-style touch.

  • Serve alongside coffee or hot cocoa for a cozy treat.

Storage & Reheating

  • Store leftover churro snacks in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes to restore crispiness.

  • Not recommended for refrigeration (they can lose crunch).
