Baklava Bundt Cake

  • Instructions

    Step 1: Preheat & Prep

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan thoroughly to ensure easy release.

Step 2: Mix the Cake Batter

In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, oil, milk, and vanilla. Beat until smooth and creamy, about 2–3 minutes.

Step 3: Make the Nut Filling

In a small bowl, mix together the chopped nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cloves. Set aside.

    Step 4: Layer the Cake

Pour half of the batter into the prepared Bundt pan. Sprinkle the nut filling evenly over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top, smoothing it out gently.

    Step 5: Bake

Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack or serving plate.

Step 6: Make the Honey Syrup

While the cake cools, combine honey, water, sugar, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla or cinnamon.

    Step 7: Drizzle & Serve

Slowly pour the warm syrup over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in. Let the cake rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing to absorb all the syrupy goodness.

    Tips & Variations

    • 🥜 Nut swaps: Use pecans or a blend of nuts if preferred. Pistachios give a traditional baklava feel.

    • 🍯 Extra syrupy: Double the honey syrup if you love a super-moist cake.

    • 🍋 Brighten it up: Add orange or lemon zest to the cake batter or syrup for citrusy flair.

    • ❄️ Make ahead: This cake actually tastes better the next day as the flavors deepen and the syrup fully absorbs.
